Hon. Bayo Osinowo, an influential chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who is popularly known as Pepper has congratulated Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola for his victory in last Thursday’s supplementary governorship election in Osun State.
Osinowo, a frontline senatorial hopeful for Lagos East Senatorial District, expressed his best wishes to the newly-elected governor over the weekend during Oyetola’s visit to the Ikoyi home of the national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Osinowo urged Oyetola and party members to be gracious in victory as “the incoming government plans to consolidate on the laudable strides of the out-going administration led by Governor Rauf Aregbosola in improving the lot of the people of Osun State through sustainable development and purposeful governance”.
Osinowo commended the people of Osun for their peaceful and responsible conduct as they made their choice using the power of the ballot.
He also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for adequate preparations and for displaying impartiality throughout the process.
The reputable politician also commended the security agencies for creating the right atmosphere for the relatively peaceful conduct of the re-run elections and urged them to sustain the peace.
He equally commended local and international observers and monitors for their vigilance and contributions towards the relatively hitch-free exercise.
Meanwhile, Osinowo, whose contribution to the stability and productivity of the Lagos State House of Assembly as a long-serving member of the Assembly is a reference point on sustainable democracy, has continued to emphasise in his campaign for the Senate that his outstanding and unparalleled experience on legislative matters is a vital element required to making the federal legislature, particularly the Senate, more vibrant and people-focused.
